Retreat: Loving Kindness Meditation with Marjo Osterhoff

A Non-Residential Meditation Retreat at Oscailt - 12th & 13th March 2011 - 10.30am-5.00pm

We all have the ability to love fully and unconditionally.  Many of us, however, experience a lack of love for ourselves, or feel that we are not able to love others as fully as we would wish.

In metta meditation, we develop an attitude of friendliness and non-contentiousness toward ourselves and others. We see ourselves as we are, not as we would like to be, and with acceptance and non-judging we learn to open our hearts to the predicament we and all living beings face.

This two-day non-residential retreat will be led by Marjó Oosterhoff. It is suitable for experienced and beginning meditators. Marjó has been practising vipassana and metta meditation for many years. In 1995 she was authorised by her teacher in the Netherlands (Venerable Mettavihari) and her teacher in Burma (Sayadaw U Janaka) to start teaching retreats in the west. Marjó lives and works at Passaddhi, a small residential retreat centre in West Cork, where she teaches and hosts a programme of retreats throughout the year. www.passaddhi.com
